I still remember being the only boy in my 5th-grade “Cooking Without Fire” class. While everyone else was busy with sports or art, I was experimenting with sandwiches, desserts, and simple baking techniques. Little did I know, those early experiments would lay the foundation for something much bigger. My first taste of recognition came when I participated in a school cake competition — and won first prize! Judged by Dr. Simrat Kathuria and Chef Harpal Singh Sokhi, that moment ignited a spark that has driven me ever since.
After 10th grade, I began searching for professional baking courses, first in Ludhiana and then in Delhi. The courses I found in Ludhiana didn’t excite me, but Delhi opened a whole new world — especially a Wedding Cake Masterclass that changed my perspective entirely. I realized that baking could be both an art and a profession, something I could pour my creativity into while sharing it with others. I also took specialized pastry courses and even trained in Singapore under Winnifred, the Queen of Wafer Paper Flowers, which helped me refine my skills.
Over the years, my work has been recognized in multiple ways — from being listed among India’s Top 10 Cake Artists by Cake Masters UK Magazine, to winning Rising Star – North, and finishing as runner-up on Zee TV’s Baker Studio, judged by Chef Ranveer Brar and Amrita Raichand. Teaching began almost unexpectedly, starting with a private one-on-one class, where a happy accident gave birth to my signature green cake colour.
Today, I’ve had the privilege of teaching over 4000 students, both offline and online, across India and abroad. What started as a hobby in 5th grade has grown into a journey of creativity, learning, and sharing — and this is just the beginning.
